Economics and works, health and environment through the resilience and protagonism of African/Italian women at the time of the pandemic. These are the themes of the meeting which took place on Saturday 14 November, in the activities of the African Women’s Forum, to offer a variety and to identify pathways of change, starting with the needs and potential of women, the most affected by the economic and social difficulties of this period..
In a period of great distance and fragmentation, the African/Italian Forum renews its commitment to strengthen links between women engaged in building a sustainable future, with the strength of diversity and the value of multicultural life, creating a space for encounter and comparison between experiences of African women in diaspora in Italy and Europe and women from Africa.
The meeting will take place with the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Emanuela Del Re, and will be introduced by Merit Umoru the Vice-President of the African Women’s Collective and Anita Calcatelli of the Women’s Space Association of the Cascina Roccafranca, who will be retracing the path of the two years African/Italian Forum in Turin..
Among the participants Suzanne Bellnoun President of the Organization of African Women of the Diaspora OFAD, in liaison from Paris, Lilie Kombo Coordinator of Ecovillage Micro-Invest Fund – EMF, from Brussels, Elodie Ntamuzinda Moderator of the French-speaking African Women’s Network for Sustainable Development by the DR of Congo, Ima Jackson doctor and researcher engaged with refugees, asylum seekers and migrants, in connection from Scotland, Suzanne Diku Mbiye gynecologist, President of Tam Tam d’Afrique From Rome . In representing FCEM/Femmes Chefs d’entreprises Modiales, Luisa Bruna Caprotti and Joelle Baccialon will speak.
The conclusions will be enthrusted to Marie-Jeanne Balagizi President of the Collective African Women and coordinator of the African/Italian Forum, moderator Colette Melfire journalist and teacher of the Mosaic Association.
The 2020 edition of the African/Italian Forum is realized with the contribution of the CRT Foundation under the ‘Migration, Civil Society. Training, Culture, Meeting and Communication on themes of the protagonism of migrant communities’ Center (CSA) Studies in partnership with CESPI and the Collective African Women for Change, is carried out in collaboration with the Women’s Defense Association, the Abele Group and with the support of many realities operating on Piedmont territory.
